SOUTHWICK – It was a tug-of-war that finally went the way of the Southwick-Tolland Regional High School boys’ volleyball team in the end.
Southwick rallied from a pair of two-point losses in the first two sets to force fourth and fifth frames before defeating Athol 24-26, 23-25, 29-27, 25-19, 15-8 Wednesday night at home.
Several Southwick players contributed to what may stand as a watershed moment in the program’s short history.
Nolan Lebrecque (6 blocks, 1 ace), Nich Chambers (20 kills, 12 digs), Chris Baker (7 kills), Nolan Winch (7 kills, 2 aces, 6 digs), Andrew Lachtara (22 assists, 8 digs), Chance Tang (1 ace, 14 digs) and Kacper Kisala (16 digs) each delivered for Southwick.
