Wingate: ‘Complete’ effort

WESTFIELD – The defending champs are just two steps away, or rather two wins, from embarking upon another postseason venture.
The Westfield High School volleyball team took care of business Wednesday, sweeping Ludlow 25-14, 25-20, 25-20. The Bombers improved to 13-2 overall, 9-0 North Division.
“Tonight was probably our most complete match of the season in terms of executing on the offensive and defensive end,” Westfield boys’ volleyball coach Tyler Wingate said. “(We had) very good balance and nice contributions across the board.”

Shane Kiendzior (13 kills), Ryan Murray (11 kills), Eddie Loboda (10 kills), Scott Walsh (35 assists), and Tyler Stanton (22 digs) provided the bulk of the contributions for Westfield.
“We’ve been working hard to improve and get to a higher level each day,” coach Wingate said. “We schedule some tough independent matches to really challenge us and hope to be playing our best volleyball on Friday and heading into the postseason.”
Westfield will play its last league match of the season Friday at West Springfield before hosting its final game of the regular season at home Monday against Belchertown.
