TURNERS FALLS – One more try.
For the last three years, Southwick-Tolland Regional senior softball pitcher Emily Lachtara has come close to delivering the Rams a championship crown – only to be denied by some elite competition.
Lachtara will get one more crack at a West Division 2 championship title when she and No. 2 Southwick collide with the top-ranked Hampshire Red Raiders (16-5) in Saturday’s finals at UMass. The Rams (18-4) secured their trip to the finals with a narrow 1-0 win over Wahconah Wednesday night at Turners Falls High School.
The championship game will begin at 1:30 p.m.
