WESTFIELD – Sophomore Amy O’Sullivan (Greenfield, Mass.) ran to victory for the Westfield State University women’s cross country team at the Worcester City Invitational at Moore State Park in Paxton, Mass., on Saturday.
O’Sullivan led the Owls to the team win as well, as she covered the 5-kilometer course in exactly 20 minutes. Westfield State freshman Grace Phair (Stockbridge, Mass./Monument Mountain) was second in 20:10.
The Owls finished with 29 points to edge Worcester State, which finished second with 32. Framingham (88) and Clark (93) rounded out the four team meet.
Andrea Noland (6th), Abigail Wagner (9th) and Mia McDonald (11th) rounded out the Owls scoring runners.
Westfield State will be idle next weekend before running in the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational on September 21.
