If you haven’t had the opportunity to play our “Beat ‘The Putz’” Football Challenge yet, my question to you, faithful reader, is why not?
For the last several years, we have given away flat-screen TVs and charcoal grills from Manny’s, gift certificates to various local restaurants, and the latest chart-topper – a Super Bowl party catered by North Elm Butcher Block valued at nearly $1,000.
Once again, we are giving away another Butcher Block-sponsored Super Sunday party, a Weber Gas Grill, thanks to Manny’s Appliances & Bedding, and a $100 gift card to The Delaney House. That’s in addition to weekly gift cards to The Tavern Restaurant.
All you need to do is purchase a newspaper, clip out the contest form, select a winner from each of Sunday’s pro football contests, and mail or drop off the form to our office at 62 School Street no later than Friday of that weekend’s games by 11:59 p.m.
Beat me, Westfield News sports editor Chris Putz, and if Sunday, October 13 is any indication, that doesn’t take much – – more than 90 percent of that weekend’s entries beat my pathetic 4-8 score – – and finish better than the rest of your peers.
[I’d also like to take the time to congratulate that week’s winner, Bob Larrabee, of Westfield, whose 10-2 record and 41 tiebreaker points netted him a bite to eat at The Tavern … on us!]
Any one who does not take advantage of this FREE contest is missing out. Who wouldn’t want something for free?!? There is no catch whatsoever. You just have to tackle me, figuratively.
Take it from me, someone who plays every free sports contest that I know of.
Fox Sports paid me $500 after I came within one point of accurately predicting the final score of Super Bowl XLIX between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks. Free of charge.
We once had a contest winner, whose hobby consisted solely of entering every free contest he could find, and making game show appearances a habit.
If you don’t have time for any research or don’t know anything about sports, just wing it. There could be free barbecue wings in your future, and much, much more.
A winner of one of our office pools actually won March Madness one year by picking all of the cities she visited. So take a trip to your local store – – or if you’re already reading this in our latest print edition – – fill out the entry form and get started. There are several prizes up for grabs. Get started now!
Also, don’t forget out to check out my weekly picks free of charge Friday night online on our Facebook page and the web or in our Saturday print edition.
Beat ‘The Putz’ and win free prizes now!
