ENGLEWOOD, FL – Abbie Irene (Wiley) Trudell, 89, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2022, after a brief illness. She was born in Bear, Delaware on November 1, 1932, to the late Dan Wiley and Georgia (Broga), the second youngest of ten children. After attending school in Becket, MA Abbie met Richard Trudell, Sr. and they were wed on April 15, 1950.
Abbie will be remembered for the love and devotion she had for her family. She worked at Old Colony Envelope, but her organizational skills were evident when she and Dick managed several apartment complexes in Westfield until his passing in 2002.
She was an avid reader, frequenting the Westfield Athenaeum. After retirement, Abbie enjoyed crafting, bowling, word searches and board games. Recently she enjoyed spending part of the winter in Florida, sailing the waters of Lemon Bay with family and friends along with her son, “Captain Al”, at the helm.
Abbie leaves behind her sons Richard Trudell, Jr. (Deborah) of Agawam, and Alan Trudell (Jan) of Englewood, FL, three beloved grandchildren, Jennifer Trudell-Marosits, Meghan Trudell, and Alan John Trudell (Scott), her treasured great-granddaughter, Amelia, sisters-in-law, Aretta Wiley and Beverly Wiley, and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.
Burial will take place on Friday, September 9, 2022, 11 AM. at St. Thomas Cemetery, Huntington, MA.
