WESTFIELD – Carolyn M. Peacock, 88, died at Baystate Noble Hospital on December 19, 2022. She was born in Bangor, Maine on March 18, 1934, the daughter of the late Harvard and Grace Moor.
She graduated from the University of Maine, Orono, in 1954 and worked as a dietician until she married Rev. Dr. Quentin Peacock in 1956. She was a faithful partner as she helped her husband serve in churches in Maine, Ohio, Pittsfield, MA, Westfield, MA, and finally in Jaffrey, NH. They retired to Peterborough, NH in 1994. She loved to swim and garden, sang in the church choir and The Monadnock Chorus, and was an active member of the Union Congregational Church in Peterborough, NH. She also worked at The Flower Shop in Westfield and volunteered at the Kai Sage library bookshop in Peterborough. She loved her many summers spent at Branch Pond in Ellsworth, Maine and later at the Thorndike Club in Jaffrey, NH. After the death of her husband in 2018, she moved from Peterborough, NH to the Southwick Village in Southwick, MA in 2022.
She leaves four children: Cynthia Gaylord (Rick) Westfield, Bruce Peacock (Amy) Mendon, VT, Craig Peacock (Carrie) Grafton, MA, and Eric Peacock (Karen) San Carlos, CA; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She also leaves Mike Quinn (Barb) and family.
A celebration of her life will be held at First Congregational Church in Westfield on Tuesday, December 27th at 11:00am. We know this is a busy time of year and understand if you are only able to be with us in spirit. www.firtionadams.com
