WESTFIELD – Steven Richard Reed age 59, (1966-2026) passed away from complications of kidney cancer on July 15th, 2026, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Steven was born in Springfield on August 10th, 1966, to Elaine (Parent) (Reed) Bowler and Clyde Reed both of Agawam. He attended Agawam Schools and Whitingham Schools, graduating in 1984.
By trade, Steven was a machinist working in several machine shops in the local area. He worked for 14 years at Tyco Health Care now known as Cardinal Health in Chicopee.
Steven moved to Westfield in 1999 to be close to his beloved wife of 25 years, LaRue “Lori” (Foard) Reed.
Besides his wife he leaves his mother Elaine Bowler, a brother Scott Reed and his wife Aimee. He also leaves his nephews, Keegan Reed, Hayden Reed and niece Kylie Reed; his mother-in-law, Judith Foard-Giucastro; brother-in-law Larry Foard; his husband Eric Bowman, and his two much beloved and spoiled pooches Oreo and Mocha.
He was predeceased by his stepfather, Paul Bowler; and father-in-law Lawrence Foard.
He will be missed deeply by his wife, family and friends for his heart of gold and grumpy but great since of humor.
