WESTFIELD – Bernard F. “Bernie” Hills, 95, (1931-2026) passed away on Tuesday, July 14th, 2026, at Baystate Noble Hospital. He was born in Westfield to the late Madison K. and Veronica (Fouche) Hills.
Bernie served with the 104th Air National Guard from 1951-1961 as a Military Police Officer. He was employed as a consultant for Foster Machine and then for Easthampton Dye Works for over 50 years before he retired. Bernie enjoyed fishing at Otis, working in his yard, woodworking, but mostly spending time with his family.
Sadly, Bernie was predeceased by his daughter Sandra A. Hills in 2023 and by his two brothers, Richard Hills and Roger Hills.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Antoinette “Toni” H. Hills of Westfield, his son Brian F. Hills and his wife Lynn of Westfield, a sister Elaine LaCasse of Barkhamsted, CT and his cherished three grandsons, Brandon and his wife Haley, Cory and Andrew Hills.
A Funeral Mass for Bernie will be held on Wednesday, July 22nd, 2026, meeting directly at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 30 Bartlett Street, Westfield, MA followed by Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Road, Westfield, MA.
