WESTFIELD – Peter S. Szafranski , 60, a lifelong resident of Massachusetts, died peacefully at home, in Westfield on Monday, July 16, 2012. Peter had been employed for many years by Smith and Wesson Arms in Springfield and Kinsler Coat Company, also of Springfield.
Peter was predeceased by his father, Stanley and his younger brother, David. Peter is survived by his wife, Sheila and five daughters, Cary Szafranski of West Springfield, MA, Dr. Christy Szafranski of St. Petersburg, FL, twins, Sherrie Szafranski Jallad of Abu Dhabi, UAE, Shellie Szafranski of Chicopee, MA, and Tanya Szafranski of Orlando, FL. Peter also leaves his mother, Wanda (Palczynski) Szafranski of Westfield, MA. Peter is also survived by eight brothers and sisters, June Massee of Blandford, MA, Peter’s twin Mark of Flower Mound, TX, Peter’s younger twin brothers, John of Dallas, TX, Paul of Boston, MA; sisters, Susan Bourbonnais of Wilbraham, MA, Barbara Tomei of Springfield, MA, Gail Szafranski of Williamsburg, MA, and Peter’s youngest brother Daniel of Fayetteville, NC. Peter also leaves his five beloved grandchildren, Kayla, Alyssa, Cory, Emmalynn, and Muhammad, affectionately called “Pete” by Peter. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Thursday July 19, 2012 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA 01085. Internment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Westfield, MA at the convenience of the family.
