I have a statement… Who: You and pet. What: Gathering. Where: Your yard. Why: Social get-together. Bring your own bag for pick up of feces or you can hire a professional dog pooper-scooper picker-upper. In other words, have your dog park in your own back yard and do not use my tax dollars for a dog park. P.S.: My dogs have their own spot in my yard to socialize and I pick up the dog’s droppings. Another P.S.: City owned land, dog parks and dog bites could cause law suits in this city and we don’t need any more of that. Good day.
Here! Here! To the senior in his mid-60’s on manners. I am in the 50-something range, and can’t believe the amount of people of ALL AGES who walk in front of me or cut me off in the grocery store or the mall and don’t say excuse me. The older crowd seem to have forgotten them, and I don’t think the younger crowd has ever learned them. My parents drilled them into me, and I did the same with my kids, especially please and thank you. I told them that people won’t want to be around them if they don’t use good manners. Bad manners is NOT COOL !!
Now this is about the skate park in Westfield. We really need to fix it and improve it. A lot. Right now the Westfield skate park is dangerous, the transitions are horrible. Plus with a better skate park we will be getting kids off the street and stop kids from riding in the new downtown area near the green bridge. Now the cost for a new skate park is kind of cheap kind of expensive but a lot cheaper than the school were building. For a 10,000 square foot the prices range from $80,000-$250,000 depending on the quality of it. But we sincerely need a new skate park and I am speaking for all the skateboarders, scooters and bikers in Westfield, MA.
BIG BIG BIG THANK YOU!!!to the kind gentleman who called and returned the flashlight he found which belonged to my friend. We had posted it in the lost and found section of the WEN and lo and behold it was returned!!!To top it off he adamantly refused the small monetary reward offered. Thanks again, it was really nice of you to make the effort.
As I walk around Westfield I can see signs that the economy is getting better. The streets, walkways, parks and parking lots are loaded with litter. Now some may see this as a glass half empty situation but I see it as a glass half full. After all, someone is spending a lot of cash on all this junk food that reaps profits for the local merchants and that has to be a good thing. An added benefit may be that the city will have to hire more people to pick all the stuff up so someone goes back to work. How about the aluminum cans that the homeless can return for cash? Benefits keep on coming.
