12:50 a.m.: assist other agency, Day Avenue, Department of Children and Families workers request an officer to assist as they take custody of a child, the responding officer reports the DCF officials took custody of the child and the officer kept the peace during a verbal argument between family members;
4:47 a.m.: suspicious persons, Half Mile Falls Park, North Elm Street, four persons were observed in the park near the fountain during hours when the park is closed, the responding officer reports the persons were identified, advised of the hours of operation of the park and sent on their ways;
7:05 a.m.: animal complaint, Wild Flower Circle, a caller reports a black bear is in the area, the responding officer reports the bear was last seen in the Gary Drive area and he so advised residents seen in the area;
9:06 a.m.: animal complaint, Westfield Animal Shelter, 178 Apremont Way, the director of animal control operations reports a person came to the shelter to surrender a black and white Boston terrier dog reportedly found near the Holyoke border;
9:47 a.m.: school investigation, Westfield Vocational-Technical High School, a school resource officer reports he was advised that a pupil had warned other pupils to leave his sister alone in a manner which could be construed as a threat, the SRO reports that the issue was handled administratively by school officials;
12:53 p.m.: found property, East Mountain Road, a Rutland resident came to the station to surrender a wallet reportedly found in the roadway of East Mountain Road, the desk officer reports a message was left for the owner and the wallet was stored for safe keeping;
1:18 p.m.: animal complaint, Cardinal Lane, a resident came to the station to complain that a neighbor’s dog attacked her dog, the responding officer reports the complainant said that she had been gardening on her property with her Welsh terrier dog when her neighbor’s German Sheppard dog jumped the fence and grabbed her dog’s head in its mouth, the woman said that dogs were separated and the German Sheppard dog fled to its own yard, the animal control officer was notified;
2:47 p.m.: larceny, Clark Street, a Ware resident came to the station to report a larceny, the responding officer reports the complainant said that she had visited friends the night before and while at their residence her backpack containing head phones, a sweatshirt and prescription medication was stolen;
3:50 p.m.: warrant execution, Colonial Pine Acres, 50 Southampton Road, detectives reports that a warrant was executed pursuant to an ongoing investigation, see story in the Wednesday edition of The Westfield News;
4:13 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Main Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed.
