12:55 a.m.: suspicious persons, Central Baptist Church, a patrol officer reports he observed four persons trespassing on the church’s steps and a routine check revealed that one was the subject of an outstanding warrant, Tyler D. Julius, 18, of no fixed address, was arrested on the warrant;
1:27 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Columbia Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle operating at a high rate of speed, the vehicle was stopped and a routine check revealed the operator’s license had been suspended, Abdiel Matos, 35, of 52 Union St., was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and for speeding;
8:45 a.m.: arrest, Mechanic Street, a community policing officer reports he was advised that the court had issued a warrant for a Mechanic Street resident, the CP officer reports the man was found at his home, Avery Davon Girard, 18, of 37 Mechanic St., was arrested without incident;
12:27 p.m.: city ordinance violation, Montgomery Street, a caller reports a neighbor has been watering a garden for two hours, the responding officer report nobody was at home so he shut off the water supply to the garden and left information about the ongoing water use restrictions for the resident;
1:40 p.m.: officer wanted, Green Avenue a resident came to the station to discuss strange text messages, the responding officer reports the woman said that she sold a dress on the Internet and the buyer sent her too much money and is sending her text messages pressuring her to send her a check, the officer reports he explained the scam and the woman said she will notify her bank;
2:29 p.m.: larceny, Broad Street, a resident came to the station to complain that her brother’s clothing was stolen from a local nursing home, the responding officer reports the complainant said that she has custody of her brother and bought clothing for him when he was admitted to the nursing home in May, 2012, and when he was discharged in August of that year he came home without the clothing she had purchased, the woman said that she has been attempting to work with the staff to recover her brother’s clothing but has been unable to obtain satisfaction;
4:25 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Meadow Street, a patrol officer requests a tow for a vehicle found with registration plates attached which had been issued to another vehicle, a criminal complaint was filed and the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
5:28 p.m.: violation of a protective order, Henry’s Trailer Park, 868 Southampton Road, a resident came to the station to report that she served a protective order to a former boyfriend and the man violated the “No contact” clause of the order within 20 minutes by sending her the first of multiple text messages, the man later came to the station to inquire why police were looking for him at his residence and was informed of the complaint, the responding officer reports the man refused allow him to emplace handcuffs and a struggle on the steps of the police station occurred before the man was taken into custody, Christopher D. Leclair, 22, of 347 Pochassic Road, was arrested of violation of an abuse prevention order and resisting arrest;
6:06 p.m.: vandalism, East Bartlett Street, a caller reports a window of his vehicle was broken, the responding officer reports the caller said that he had parked his car at the rear of the property on Monday and on Wednesday discovered that a driver’s side window was completely smashed out, nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicle;
7:28 p.m.: illegal dumping, Pochassic Road, a caller reports somebody is dumping trash on his property, the responding officer reports the caller said that he observed a pickup truck containing a refrigerator pass his house on a road which leads only to parts of his family’s farm and investigated to see the vehicle leaving without the refrigerator, the man said he called a brother and advised him to block the roadway and returned to speak with the operator who admitted dumping the refrigerator on a field, the man was advised to return to get the refrigerator and wait for police, the officer reports the suspect said that he was looking for the dump, got lost and panicked when he realized that the rented truck was overdue for return, a criminal complaint was filed;
7:40 p.m.: fire, May Street, a caller reports heavy smoke in the area and does not know if the smoke originates inside or outside his dwelling, the responding deputy fire chief reports a haze of smoke in the area and investigated to find a nearby resident extinguishing a small fire, the resident was advised of the pertinent regulations;
9:15 p.m.: attempted breaking and entering, Paper Mill Road, a caller reports it appears as if someone attempted to break into his home, the responding officer reports the caller said that he returned home to find a screen had been removed from a window and was damaged, the window however is intact and no entry appears to have been gained.
