The Cathedral High School girls’ hockey team suffered a narrow 3-2 loss to top-seeded Shrewsbury earlier this week.
Cathedral battled to the end, pulling the goalie to add an extra attacker. The Panthers took some great shots in the final moments but Shrewsbury goaltender Delia O’Conner (26 saves) came up big in the end.
Katelyn Joyal scored the first Cathedral goal. Kyra Ashe and Madison Pelletier (Westfield High) assisted on the play. Madison Pelletier came up big again, scoring the second Panthers’ goal on assists from Amanda Rabideau and Mackenzie Pelletier (Westfield High).
Cathedral goalie Lexi Levere (Westfield High) finished with 31 saves.
