12:18 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Meadow Street, a community policing officer reports he observed a male party urinating in public, a city ordinance violation citation was issued;
1:35 a.m.: noise complaint, Woronoco Avenue, a caller reports college-aged persons are making noise in the area, the responding officer reports about 50 guests were asked to leave the party and the tenant was advised of the possible repercussions of a subsequent complaint;
2:20 a.m.: disturbance, Mechanic Street, a caller reports a male party in the driveway is attempting to engage others in a fight, the responding officer reports he found a male party on the ground surrounded by others who were urging him to stay down, the man was obviously highly intoxicated and acknowledged that he was drunk, the man was place in protective custody;
2:58 a.m.: found property, a person came to the station to surrender a set of keys reportedly found on Church Street, the owner of the keys could not be immediately identified and the keys were stored for safekeeping;
10:44 a.m.: vandalism, Main Street, suspicious property, Mockingbird Lane, a caller reports she discovered a severed rabbit head in her mailbox, see story in the Friday edition of The Westfield News;
12:44 p.m.: fire, Western Avenue, a caller reports heavy smoke in the area, the responding fire captain reports a chimney at a Western Avenue address is smoking normally but there is also a backyard fire on Bates Road, the resident at Bates Road extinguished the fire;
2:43 p.m.: larceny, East Main Street, a caller from an electronics store reports speakers mounted outside the store were stolen at 11:46 a.m. Thursday, the responding officer reports a video record of the theft will be reviewed;
3:45 p.m.: disturbance, Margerie Street, a 9-year-old caller reports her mother is intoxicated and fled the residence, the responding officer reports the woman was found at the end of the street and was deemed to be too intoxicated to care for herself, the woman was placed in protective custody;
4:00 p.m.: larceny, East Main Street, a caller reports a customer bought a chair from a thrift store but left with a different chair, the responding officer reports a clerk said that the suspect apparently switched tags on the chairs before leaving with the more expensive one, the officer spoke with the suspect by phone and he agreed to return the chair;
5:24 p.m.: animal complaint, Overlook Drive, a caller reports a skunk abroad in daylight appears to be injured, the responding officer reports the animal was obviously injured and was dispatched, the resident was advised of his disposal options;
5:36 p.m.: assist resident, Governor Drive, a caller reports a relative is locked out of her home, the responding fire captain reports entry was gained;
6:29 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, St. Paul Street at William Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle operating without a valid inspection sticker, the vehicle was stopped and a routine check revealed the operator’s license to be suspended as a habitual traffic offender, Luis Angel Valdes, 26, of 4 St. Paul St., was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a license revoked as a habitual traffic offender, a third offense, the passenger was found to be the owner of the car and she took custody of it;
7:06 p.m.: fire, Knox Circle, a caller reports a bonfire behind her house, the responding deputy fire chief reports a resident was advised of the pertinent regulations and the fire was allowed to die out;
7:29 p.m.: assist citizen, Security Manor, 47 Broad St., firefighters were asked to assist a resident who was locked out of his vehicle, the responding firefighters report no entry was gained;
9:19 p.m.: larceny, Overlook Drive, a caller reports that her garage was entered in the past hour and property was stolen, the responding officer reports the caller said that she came home and set down her suitcase in her unlocked garage, the woman said that when she returned to her garage she found her suitcase had been opened and artwork and other property had been stolen;

12:14 a.m.: illegal dumping, Franklin Street, a patrol officer reports that a pile of garbage and construction debris was found at the rear of a Franklin Street parking lot;
1:12 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Egleston Road at Southampton Road, a patrol officer reports he observed a red light violation and stopped the offending vehicle, the operator was found to be unlicensed, Johnathan A. Berry, 22, of 9 Miller St., was arrested for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and for a red light violation,
2:52 a.m.: accident, Russell Road, a caller reports a vehicle struck a utility pole and the operator is walking around the damaged vehicle, the responding officer reports the operator of the single involved vehicle appeared to be intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test, Ryan T. McCarthy, 32, of 11 Cedar Street, Ludlow, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation, a pre-tow inventory revealed a small quantity of marijuana and a city ordinance violation citation was filed, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
3:06 a.m.: incapacitated person, Prospect Street at Pine Street, a caller reports an incapacitated person in the area, the responding officer reports he found a highly intoxicated male party who was difficult to rouse and said that he wanted to continue sleeping on the sidewalk, nobody could be found to care for the man and he was placed in protective custody;
8:49 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Main Street, a traffic enforcement officer reports a motor vehicle stop, the operator’s license was found to be suspended and the vehicle’s registration had been revoked, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
9:37 a.m.: animal complain, Parker Memorial Park, West Silver Street, a caller reports that while he was walking his dog she was attacked by two American bulldogs, the caller noted the personal information of the owner of the dogs and said that although he does not believe his dog was seriously injured she was limping when they left, the call was referred to the animal control officer;
10:55 a.m.: assault , Main Line Drive, a person came to the station to reports he was assaulted at his workplace earlier in the morning, the responding officer reports the man said someone threw a punch at him but said that he does not wish to pursue charges, the man was advised his report would be noted;
12:11 p.m.: larceny, state boat ramp, Old Apremont Way, a Holyoke resident came to the station to complain that the registration plate was stolen from his boat trailer while he was boating at Hampton Ponds;
2:04 p.m.: burning complaint, Woodside Terrace, a caller reports smoke in the area, the responding fire captain reports he found illegal burning and advised the resident to extinguish the fire;
3:41 p.m.: city ordinance violation, Main Street, a caller reports a described male party urinated against the door of a bank, the responding officer reports the man was found to be highly intoxicated and was placed in protective custody;
4:46 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Main Street at Noble Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a male party believed to have a suspended license operating a motor vehicle, the vehicle was stopped and the operator’s license status was confirmed, John D. Rusin, 55, of 735 Memorial Drive Trail, Chicopee, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, a second offense;
4:56 p.m.: animal complaint, turnpike interchange, Southampton Road, a state trooper reports a stray dog was found at the toll booth and transported to the barracks, an animal control officer responded to take custody of the dog and transport it to the municipal animal shelter;
8:10 p.m.: larceny, Stanley Park, 400 Western Ave., a caller reports that party equipment including a cotton candy machine, a generator, motor and ancillary items were stolen, the responding officer reports that the items had been rented for an event and left in the park for pickup by the rental company, the caller reports the items were found to be missing when the employee went to get them.
