AMHERST – Westfield’s Josh Adams notched a hat trick, and the Bombers’ boys’ ice hockey team ended the regular season with a 6-2 win Friday over Acton-Boxboro.
Sullivan Webster (2 assists), Max Maggipinto (1 assist), and Ryan Porter also scored one goal apiece for Westfield. Bombers’ Colin Burns made two assists, and Mario Metallo and Mitchell Weiss each had one.
Westfield goalie Cameron Parent collected 20 saves.
Westfield closes out the regular season with a 9-10-1 record, but more importantly is eligible for the postseason. The Bombers edged out the Ludlow Lions for the fourth spot in the Division 3 tournament by way of a better winning percentage.
St. Mary and the Westfield-Longmeadow girls’ ice hockey team will also find out their playoff seeding Saturday.
