Agnes Cook

Blandford – cook-agnes-obit-photoAgnes Keller Cook, 91, formerly of Blandford passed away at Holyoke Healthcare Center on December 25, 2016. She was born on Oct. 11, 1925 to Cleveland D. and Harrie Brown Keller in Spruce Pine, North Carolina. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Franklin Cook of Blandford, two brothers; Manning and Clarence Keller of Danville, Virginia and two sisters, Alberta Riddle of Danville, Virginia and Betty Lou Shepard of Westfield. She had many jobs in her life, starting out at the AT&T Telegraph and Telephone Company and once relocated to this area, she also worked as the cafeteria manager at Blandford Elementary School, many winters at the Blandford Ski Club and many summers at Blueberry Joe’s. She retired from the Old Drum Shop in Granville. She was a passionate crafter, making many award winning quilts as well as knitting and crocheting sweaters, hats, gloves and scarves. Her hobbies included fishing with her husband, and reading. She also loved visits with family and friends. Surviving is son Brian Cook of Blandford, daughter Kathy Arrington of Westfield, three grandchildren, James Cook of Eagle River, Alaska, Beth Cook of Chinle, Arizona and Daniel Goad of Charlotte, North Carolina as well as five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Suzi Dimenno, Laurie Picard and Pam Doukellis, as well as the 2nd floor staff of Holyoke Healthcare for the compassionate and loving care they provided.   Burial will be held in the spring in Blandford Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Blandford Fire Dept. 93 Main St. Blandford, MA 01008 of NCCHP (Drum Museum) 42 Water St. Granville, MA 01034.
