WESTFIELD: Alfred Joseph Hanley, 82, (1939 – 2021) passed away at Baystate Noble Hospital in Westfield, MA on Sunday, May 30, 2021.
Al was born in Springfield, MA on May 18, 1939, to Henry Hanley and Gladys (Andrews) Hanley.
Al graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Western New England University. Al had worked at Buxton in Agawam, MA followed by many years at Milton Bradley in East Longmeadow, MA.
In his younger years, Al enjoyed playing pool. Al also enjoyed traveling with his family and attending horse and dog races.
Al is predeceased by his parents Henry and Gladys Hanley and his sisters Helen Miranda and her husband Barney, and Noreen Fusick and her husband Al.
Al is survived by his wife Judith (Buckley) Hanley of Westfield, MA, his son John K. Hanley and his wife Monika of West Springfield, MA. He is also survived by many very treasured nieces and nephews, his sisters-in-law, his brother-in-law, along with other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests you extend a random act of kindness to our first responders, nurses, and police or a donation to your local food bank.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a period of visitation from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Friday, June 4, 2021, at Avalon Funeral & Cremation Services, 691 College Hwy, Southwick, MA 01077. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Southwick Cemetery.
