AGAWAM – Alice M. (Gamache) Buell, 95, (1930-2026) passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, January 6th, 2026, at home. Born in Westfield, daughter of the late Ernest and Flora (Woodard) Gamache and was a 1949 graduate of St. Mary’s High School.
Alice had worked at Old Colony Envelope, Liberty Bakery, and as the activities assistant at Heritage Hall. She was a former communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church in Westfield, a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church, and a member of the Catholic Women’s Club.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dennis S. Buell who died on June 20th, 2017, and four brothers, Arthur, Charlie, Ernest, Joseph and a sister, Florence.
She leaves two sons, Michael (Ann Marie) Buell of Westfield, Lawrence (Jennifer) Buell of East Longmeadow, two daughters, Mary (Gary) Stark of Chicopee, Kathleen (Scott) McEwan of Westfield, seven grandchildren: Martin, Christopher (Karen), Jonathan (Marie), Nathaniel (Laura), David, Jessica (Brandon), Andrew, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Monday from 9-11 a.m. at the AGAWAM CURRAN JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street with a Mass at 11:30 at Sacred Heart Church, 1065 Springfield Street, Feeding Hills. The burial is private.
