Aline Conway

WESTFIELD – Aline Conway passed away peacefully on Friday, August 17, 2012 at the Renaissance Manor Nursing Home. She was 99 years old. Born on November 7, 1912 and a life-long resident of Westfield, she was a long time employee of the Westfield School Department.
Aline was a member of the Westfield Woman’s Club and an avid Red Sox fan. She was active in the community having served with many organizations including secretary of Flood Control Commission, Board of Directors for the School Employees Credit Union, Western Mass Historical Society and volunteered at Noble Hospital and the American Red Cross.
Aline was predeceased by her husband, Howard Conway who died in 1969, along with 11 brothers and sisters; Donald Saltus, Louis Saltus, Edgar Saltus, William Saltus, Philip Saltus, Harry Saltus, Wilda Lemanski, Kathryn Tinkham, Grace Barry, Phylis Romanauskas, and Marie Saltus. She leaves three daughters; Judith Conway and her husband Joseph McCarthy of Gold Canyon Arizona, Jill O’Brien and her husband Frank of Westfield, and Marie Noonan and her husband Joseph of Thousand Oaks, California. She also leaves four grandchildren; Michael O’Brien of Phoenix Arizona, Thomas Pereira of Westfield, Sarah Noonan, and Julie Mottola and her husband Mark of Westfield. In addition, she leaves one great-grandchild, Kathryn Mottola of Westfield. She also leaves her niece and best friend, Stephanie Saltus as well as many other nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Renaissance Manor Nursing Home for their kindness and compassion.
There will be no calling hours. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter’s Church, 24 State Street, Westfield. The burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
