Drop off letters to Santa and donate to the YWCA’s Teen Parent Program

WESTFIELD – It’s all about giving back for Kim Starsiak.

The owner of All Stars Dance Center, Starsiak just can’t help herself when it comes to doing good for others.

“I just want to pay it forward,” Starsiak said when speaking about her upcoming “Stuff the Truck with Santa and The Grinch” event Dec. 12.

“Especially during the pandemic, people were so good to me and the dance studio,” she said, noting donations that enabled her to equip ASDC with an air filter system, cleaning supplies and more to make it safe for dance students to return in-person.

All Stars, at 209 Root Road, will host a holiday event Dec. 12 from 3- 5 p.m., including a drop-off for Letters to Santa and special appearances by Santa, The Grinch and some well-known princesses.

“One of our former students will be here that day as Rapunzel,” Starsiak said. “That is what it is all about – giving back. I love doing things for our community!”

Starsiak said they will also collect donations for the Holyoke Teen Parent Program of the YWCA of Western Massachusetts, including pajamas in teen/adult sizes, personal care items, gift cards to all stores, yoga mats, blankets, adult art supplies and socks for the teen moms, as well as toys, books, coloring books and more for their children.

Starsiak said the program is close to her heart because the mom of one of her students works there and mentioned to her that the teenage mothers do not receive much for Christmas.

“They are moms doing their best for their kids, but they are still kids themselves,” Starsiak said.

Starsiak typically hosts a holiday show featuring ASDC students to benefit the food pantry. Starsiak said while the collection Dec. 12 will benefit the YWCA program, “we will not forget the food pantry this year.”

The public is encouraged to participate and children who bring a letter to Santa will receive a surprise.
