12:52 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Green Avenue, a patrol officer requests a tow for a parked vehicle found to have expired registration, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
1:30 p.m.: weather complaint, Root Road at North Road, a caller reports a large fallen limb is blocking the roadway, the responding officer reports a DPW crew responded by 2 p.m. and he assisted with traffic while the crew removed the fallen tree;
2:22 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Southampton Road, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed;
2:50 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Main Street, a traffic enforcement officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be revoked for lack of insurance, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
3:41 p.m.: disturbance, Henry’s Trailer Park, 868 Southampton Road, a caller reports her boyfriend is highly intoxicated and is being aggressive toward her, the responding officer reports the woman said that the man can be violent when intoxicated and had been drinking all day, she showed the officer an empty whiskey bottle, the man was placed in protective custody, the woman sought and was granted an abuse prevention order, see Wednesday, 4:22 p.m. entry;
4:16 p.m.: found property, Day Avenue at Court Street, a resident came to the station to surrender a cellphone found, the responding officer reports the owner of the password protected phone could not be identified and it was stored for safekeeping;
5:52 p.m.: vandalism, Main Street, a caller reports somebody who keyed his car did a poor job, the responding officer reports that the victim said that he discovered the damage when he returned to the car at a Main Street parking lot but the damage may have been inflicted elsewhere, the man suggested a suspect but had no concrete evidence;
8:10 p.m.: assist citizen, Westfield Police Department, 15 Washington St., a resident came to the station to surrender hypodermic needles she found in her daughter’s purse, the needles were disposed of safely.
