Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012
11:31 a.m.: motor vehicle theft, 116 Northridge Road, caller reports theft of an all-terrain vehicle which was chained to a boat trailer was stolen along with the chain and lock;
11:59 a.m.: motor vehicle theft, 79 Franklin St., apartment 11, caller reports that his 2006 Toyota is missing, officer confirmed that the vehicle had been towed by the property owner, advised reporting party to work out the issue with the property owner;
12:41 p.m.: traffic complaint, Southwick Road, patrol officer reports observing youths riding in the bed of a pick-up truck, vehicle stopped and operator advised that was an illegal activity, the passengers in the bed exited the vehicle and the operator went to get a more suitable vehicle for passenger transport;
4:42 p.m.: suspicious activity, Russell Road, patrol officer observed several subjects swimming, cooking and had an open fire, officer explained that those activities are in violation of city ordinance, subjects agreed to cease, officer will also notify Public Works about the trash in that area;
6:47 p.m.: assist other agency, West Silver Street, Noble Hospital staff report that a highly intoxicated subject left their facility and request that he be returned for treatment, officer reports area search negative, staff reports subject returned to hospital;
8:49 p./m.: domestic disturbance, arrest, 92 Westwood Drive, caller reports an intoxicated female is kicking his vehicle, officer reports that intoxicated female placed into protective custody and transported to station;
9:01 p.m.: trespassing, Buck Pond Road, caller reports a person trespassing on posted property in a motor vehicle, caller reports speaking with subject who ignored his request to leave, officer reports speaking with subject who was sent on his way;
10:48 p.m.: assist other agency, Moseley Avenue, Chicopee police officer requesting assistance in locating a motor vehicle whose operator may have been involved in a breaking and entering in that community, officer reports identifying the operator of the vehicle and obtaining his cell phone number, subject was not at that location, information given to Chicopee officer.

12:21 a.m.: motor vehicle accident with injury, arrest, Furrowtown Road at intersection of of Montgomery Road, officer reports motorist operating vehicle east on Furrowtown Road at a high rate of speed, attempted to brake vehicle at intersection of Montgomery Road and lost control, vehicle collided with a tree, a 17-year-old female was transported to Noble Hospital, operator identified as Eric A. Berrios, 17, of 4 Crown St., charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, failing to yield at an intersection and speeding, vehicle towed from scene;
1:55 a.m.: disturbance, Tommy D’s, 252 Elm St., caller reports a patron fainted, police and firefighter dispatched, subject was transported to Noble Hospital, while officers on scene a fight/disturbance occurred at the rear parking lot, officer reports subject taken into custody, Donald G. Cornelius III, 29, of 4525 Emerson Park Drive, Orlando, Fla., charged with disorderly conduct;
3:47 a.m.: domestic disturbance, 106 Feeding Hills Road, caller reports her sister punched her and her mother, sister then inflicted a laceration of her own arm with a knife, officer reports Kristen M. Halla, 20, of that address charged with assault and battery in a domestic relationship, officer reports laceration superficial;
5:32 a.m.: fire/gas odor, 15 Washington St., firefighters and Westfield Gas & Electric Department technician dispatched to poli9ce headquarters, firefighters report a strong odor, but it does not appear to be natural gas, WG&E technicians confirmed strong odor not gas, but unable to identify source;
8:20 a.m.: larceny, Tekoa Country Club, 459 Russell Road, manager reports theft of hole flag, officer reports speaking with staff who confirm that the flag was out at 5:30 a.m. and that the last time it was taken by resident of a house on Russell Road, officer spoke with residents who denied having taken the flag, area search negative;
3:43 p.m.: domestic disturbance, 38 Hampden St., caller reports loud screaming in neighboring residence, officer reports female resident taken into custody on five outstanding court warrants, Kimberly A. Enriquez, 41, of that address arrested on warrants;
4:11 p.m.: larceny, citizen came to station to report unauthorized use of a debit card, charges of $1,200 made to card, investigation referred to the detective bureau;
4:13 p.m., arrest, 15 Washington Street, citizen came to station to speak to officer ab9out on-going investigation of theft of a large container of quarters valued at $2,000 from a Foch Avenue residence, Cory K. Schumann, 17, of 31 F9och Ave., charged with larceny over $250;
5:38 p.m.: suspicious activity, East Bartlett Street, caller reports location of a vehicle which may have been involved in a hit and run accident, officer reports locating the vehicle, negative for involvement in hit and run;
6:29 p.m.: incapacitated person, Cottage Avenue, caller requesting well being check on highly intoxicated female, officer reports 52 year old female placed under protective custody;
8:28 p.m.: attempted breaking and entering, Old Stage Road, caller reports being on second floor and hearing a noise, as the caller descended the stairs she observed a male leaving through the front door, officer reports door was no located and male entered residence, area search negative, resident advised to lock doors;
9:06 p.m.: larceny, Berkshire Bank,Court Street, caller reports observing youths attempting to steal copper downspout, caller approaching the bank to use they and fled the area, caller was approaching the bank to use the ATM reports the subjects loaded the copper into a dark colored SUV.

12:10 vandalism, 358 Southwick Road, caller reports his vehicle was struck with rocks or pellets near Tannery Road intersection but does not want a formal complaint;
1:20 a.m.: incapacitated person, Washington Street, officer reports at location with two intoxicated subjects, 20-year-old female placed into protective custody who was transported to Noble Hospital for evaluation;
10:35 a.m.: motor vehicle accident with injury, Mechanic Street, officer reports a southbound vehicle att4empted to make a left turn onto Cherry Street Extension and entered the path of a northbound vehicle, operator of northbound vehicle transported to Noble Hospital for treatment;
1:07 p.m.: larceny, 60 East Silver Street, caller reports theft of $60 from a pocketbook in the employee-only-access area at the Westfield Care and Rehabilitation Center, investigation referred to the detective bureau;
2:20 p.m.: shoplifting, Stop & Shop, 57 Main St., store security reports a female subject entered the supermarket and removed items from the shelves, then attempted to return items for cash at customer service, officer reports criminal complaint filed with court and female issued a trespass notice;
4:56 p.m.: breaking and entering, 14 Belvidere Gardens, caller reports that someone entered his grandmother’s apartment, but that nothing appears missing, officer reports checking with the Westfield Housing Authority which had notified residents of authority housing that the authority was conducti9ng an insect infestation check after sending resident a notification, no criminal activity;
7:28 p.m.: vandalism, 297 Elm St. business owner reports observing a male subject put the initials C.H.I. into the freshly poured concrete sidewalk in front of his store, officer reports damage estimated at $300;
8:08 p.m.: larceny, 1 Kelly Drive, resident report theft of items and suspects his nephew took the missing property, reporting party does not want to file a criminal complaint if the property is returned.
