Bombers dive past Spartans

WESTFIELD – Another meet, another victory for the unbeaten Westfield swim program.
GIRLS’ RESULTS
Westfield 131, East Longmeadow 54
Jordan Jacobson won two events – the 200 free (2:06.16) and 100 free (57.41) – to lead Westfield (7-0).
Genna Senecal (50 free, 27.53), Erin Lewis (100 fly, 1:05.07), Hannah Plourde (100 back, 1:08.60), Ali Johnstone (1:16.15), and Kelsey Veillette (diving, 215.05) won individual events for the Bombers.
Veillette is just 11 points shy of breaking the school’s 6-dive record.
It was also a gold medal day for Westfield’s relay teams as the 200-yard medley team (Hope Walsh, Lewis, Senecal, Johnstone), 200-yard free relay team (Lewis, Walsh, Johnstone, Liz Gelinas), and 400-yard free relay team (Johnstone, Shaylyn Jurczyk, Sarah Plourde, Samantha Dolan) each proved victorious.
BOYS’ RESULTS
Westfield 110, East Longmeadow 65
The boys’ respective diver, freshman Igor Belokopytov, also created a bit of a stir with a first-place, Western Massachusetts qualifying score of 150.15 for Westfield (7-0).
Bombers’ John Dolan won the 200 free (1:55.76) and 100 breaststroke (1:07.75); and, Matt LaBombard won the 100 free (53.22) and 100 backstroke (59.24).
Jimmy Stinehart (200 IM, 2:16.74), Timothy Kwarcinski (100 fly, 59.56), the 200 medley relay team (Matt Jacobson, Stinehart, Kwarcinski, Chris Tu), and 200 free relay team (Stinehart, Kwarcinski, Patrick Monette, Dolan) also recorded first-place finishes for Westfield.
