WESTHAMPTON – The Westfield High School gymnastics team never seems to miss a beat. No matter whether the Bombers are up or down, they always seem to get the job done.
Westfield closed out the regular season with another first place finish, scoring 135.55 points, besting Minnechaug (133.825) and Hampshire (125.575) Wednesday. The Bombers ran their record win streak to 169-0.
“It was another great meet,” Westfield coach Bethany Liquori said.
Senior gymnast Liz Walker continued her fabulous run, winning the All-Around competition for Westfield with a 35.1. Walker won gold on vault (9.2) and uneven bars (8.8), and garnered third on balance beam (8.75) and floor exercise (8.35).
Westfield’s Mairead Hagan placed first on beam (8.9) and third on the bars (8.45) to capture third place in the All-Around with a 33.325.
Maddy Stompi claimed first with her Bombers’ floor routine.
Amy Farqharson (vault/2nd/8.25), Caity Daniels (vault/3rd/8.2), Miranda Wozniak (beam/2nd/8.775), and Carly Thayer (floor/2nd/8.6) all finished in the top three for Westfield.
