WESTFIELD – It was another amazing night for a trio of Westfield High School boys’ ice hockey players, and their Bomber teammates.
Connor Sullivan recorded a hat trick, Chris Sullivan scored two goals, and senior Craig Lacey put forth what longtime head coach C.B. “Moose” Matthews called “the best of his career” in Friday night’s 8-2 win over East Longmeadow at the Amelia Park Ice Arena.
“Craig got the puck to the forwards, and made enormous stops and breakaways,” Matthews said.
Westfield next turns its attention to Minnechaug Thursday at the Olympia Ice Center in West Springfield. Both teams will face off at 7 p.m.

Taya Allen (6 points), Kelsey Carrol (3), and Heather Lannon (2) also scored for the Tigers.
Voc-Tech will seek to extend its winning streak Tuesday against Sci-Tech at home at 5 p.m.

Red Raiders double up Saints
Commerce 44, St. Mary’s 22
The number 13 proved to be truly unlucky for the St. Mary’s High School girls’ basketball team Friday night.
While Phoenix Latta, wearing the number jersey 13 for Commerce, managed just four points against St. Mary’s, it was a pair of Red Raiders who did the damage at Westfield North Middle School.
Commerce’s Geriliz Hernandez and Breanna Marchena scored 13 points apiece to lead Commerce past St. Mary’s, 44-22.
Alissa Easton led the Saints with seven points, Alison Stanlewicz had six, Karissa Foley finished with five, and Lauren Chapdelaine and Tessa Kielbasa each had two.
St. Mary’s will look to rebound when the Saints take the court against Gateway at Westfield Middle School North. Tip off is at 5:30 p.m.
