WESTFIELD – The Westfield High School boys’ soccer team rebounded in the best way possible.
Westfield’s Dillon Bazegian scored the game-winner with 15 minutes remaining to escape with a 1-0 win over visiting Northampton Monday.
Aidan Dunn set up the game-winning goal with a nice cross that Northampton deflected. Mike Visconti collected the rebound and pushed the ball to Bazegian, who knocked home the goal.
Westfield goalie Ian Saltmarsh made nine saves to earn a shutout.
“It was good to get the win after a tough loss to Longmeadow,” Westfield coach Andrew Joseph said.
Westfield was coming off a 3-0 loss to Longmeadow, a game which saw the Lancers score two goals in the first 17 minutes.
The Bombers have little time to rest as they return to action Tuesday night at Szot Park in Chicopee against the Pacers. Game time is 6 p.m.
