SOUTHWICK – It may only be one game into the 2012 high school field hockey season, but Westfield is already playing the role of spoiler.
Westfield spoiled Jordan Baillargeon’s head coaching debut for Southwick, blanking the host Rams 2-0 yesterday. Baillargeon is a former WHS player.
Mary Boudreau and Olivia Clark each scored to ensure the Westfield victory. Boudreau’s goal came in the 12th minute; Clark’s goal provided insurance with 20 minutes left in the game.

Karley Mastello (4 saves) and Jessica Hale (2) earned a combined shutout in net for the Bombers (1-0).
“Westfield worked together well,” Westfield coach Karen Gomez said. “They’re finding their chemistry.”
Midfielder Emily Petit and forward Olivia White held Southwick together for much of the game, while Rams’ goalie Sarah Bodzinski made 10 saves to keep her team within striking distance.
