Bombers sweep Lions

LUDLOW – Three up, three down.
The two-time defending Western Massachusetts champion Westfield High School boys’ volleyball team stormed out of the gate this season, sweeping the Agawam Brownies on opening day. The Bombers followed that up with an impressive 3-1 road win against Chicopee Comprehensive in the second contest.
So, it will likely come as no surprise to anyone that Westfield easily dispatched host Ludlow Wednesday night in three straight sets. The Bombers took care of business, defeating the Lions 25-16, 25-18, 25-18 to improve to 3-0.

Westfield will get an off day before returning home Friday for an early afternoon tilt with West Springfield. Game time is 12:15 p.m.
