WESTFIELD – A simple dinner can mean the world to a family, especially right now when Easter traditions of gathering together have been suspended.

The Greater Westfield Boys & Girls Club is helping make the holiday special for 30 families thanks to a donation of 30 hams from Jon Stolpinski and Westfield Electroplating.

The Boys & Girls Club Board of Directors also donated $25 Big Y gift cards for those families to purchase what they need to complete their ham dinner.

“Everybody wanted to make sure life could go on as normal as possible,” said Boys & Girls Club Advancement Director Bo Sullivan of the donation. “This is one way we can help.”

The hams and gift cards were given to families participating in the Grab & Go meal distribution at the Club starting April 9.

In addition, Mayor Donald F. Humason and Westfield Gas & Electric donated candy-filled Easter eggs that would have been used in the Mayor’s Egg Hunt, and CVS donated candy as well, which is being distributed to everyone participating in the Club’s Grab & Go meal program.

Sullivan said this week 350 Grab & Go meals were distributed daily.
