Brendon F. Preston

BLANDFORD – Brendon Foster Preston of Blandford, MA died peacefully, age 85, on January 16th, 2018. He leaves his wife Joan and children Pamela F. Preston, of Manhattan, NY; Brendan C. Preston (wife Eva), of Chappaqua, NY; and Paris M. Preston, of Seattle, WA. He also leaves two beloved grandsons, Shayne and Dyllon Preston. Brendon was born in Hartford, CT on February 6, 1932 to the late Julia and Thomas Preston. He was pre-deceased by his brothers Robert and Thomas, and sister Mary Margaret. He also leaves his dear niece Priscilla Ruppar (Preston) and nephews John Preston, James Otis, Thomas and Robert Trumble. Brendon was employed for over 30 years as an executive with the Automobile Legal Association (ALA).  He enjoyed many rounds of golf with his friends at the Tekoa Country Club in Westfield, MA where he was a member. Brendon was a naval veteran of the Korean War and served as a volunteer for several social justice organizations including The Catholic Worker and Veterans for Peace. He was a volunteer at the Great Barrington Soup Kitchen and with a local prison literacy program. He attended Hartford Public High School, Maryknoll Seminary (Illinois), and St. Anselm’s College (New Hampshire). Per Brendon’s wishes, a private service was held at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Agawam.
