CHICOPEE – Westfield’s top singles player, Loeiz Briand remained unbeaten in the Bombers’ boys’ tennis team’s 3-2 loss to host Chicopee Wednesday.
Briand defeated Chicopee’s Tom O’Shea, 6-0, 6-1.
Westfield also received a victory at third singles as Jacob Barbeiri won 6-3, 6-4. The Bombers (7-7) must now win one of final two home matches – against Agawam (May 20) and East Longmeadow (May 23) – to earn a team tournament berth. Both matches begin at 4 p.m.
