Car strikes utility pole

SOUTHWICK – On Tuesday night, an accident occurred on Mort Vining Hill Road. According to Lt. Kevin Bishop of the Southwick Police, a female was operating a vehicle when it went off the road and struck a telephone pole.

The police reported that the pole broke in half and live wires were on the vehicle. Along with the woman operating the car, her small baby was in the vehicle with her. Once first responders arrived on scene, they were instructed to stay in the vehicle until Eversource showed up and cut the power to the wires.

After the wires were cut, both the female and her baby were able to get out of the car and there were no injuries reported. The vehicle was then towed from the scene. An update on this accident will be reported on once more information is revealed.
