WESTFIELD – St. Mary’s attended a soccer clinic yesterday, and the cost was – a loss.
Division I powerhouse Cathedral shut out St. Mary’s in a high school boys’ soccer game 4-0 to improve to 4-2-1.
Four different players – Milano Kuku, Ryan Reynolds, Cam Peritz, and Brian Collamore – scored for the Panthers. Reynolds also had two assists.
“It was a good learning experience for the Saints in playing a perennial powerhouse and Division 1 program,” said St. Mary’s coach Andrew Martin.
The Saints hail from Division III.
St. Mary goalie Bryce Kibbe did the best he could to slow Cathedral’s attack. Kibbe made 24 saves.
“It was another great game for Kibbe,” said Martin. “He made numerous saves that would have added to Cathedral’s scoring column.”
Cathedral led 3-0 at the half.
