SOUTHWICK- Charles Richard Condron, 82, (1936-2019) passed away on September 16, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Charles was born in Pittsfield, MA on November 30, 1936, a son of the late John Leo and Emily Grace (Watkins) Condron. He grew up spending his early years in the town of Dalton, MA. Charles honorably served his Country in the Radio Corp, United States Army Reserve, during the Korean Conflict. Charles first moved to Southwick, MA in 1971. Soon after he purchased land on College Highway and personally built his own home, where he lived for next 45 years. Charles retired after 33 years as a teacher in the Agawam School System. He taught in the elementary, middle, and junior high schools, touching the lives of thousands of students. A long time resident of Southwick and very active in the community, Charles was widely known and well loved. Active in town government, he served on the School Board and the Finance Committee. Charles is survived by a son, Christopher Leo Condron and his wife Kellie Donovan-Condron, of Auburn, MA; a daughter Kathleen R. Condron of Agawam, MA; two grandchildren, John Colleto of Agawam and Maeve Condron of Auburn; a sister, Grace Lombardi of Dalton; a brother, Thomas Condron of Pittsfield and extended family members. Charles was predeceased by two brothers John Condron and Joseph Condron. The family will gather and receive friends from 2:00PM – 5:00PM, on Sunday (September 22, 2019) in the Southwick Forastiere Family Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, (Highway 202/10), Southwick. His funeral services will take place at 11:00AM, on Monday (September 23, 2019) in the funeral home. Charles will be laid to rest in the New Cemetery, Southwick.
