WESTFIELD – City Auditor Christopher Caputo has announced he will be leaving Westfield in the beginning of July to take a position in a nearby community.
Caputo, who lives in Springfield, started in February of 2019 and will be leaving on July 10.
Caputo said he wasn’t looking, but got a call, and couldn’t turn it down. “They gave me everything I wanted,” he said, adding that he gave his written notice to Mayor Donald F. Humason Jr. on June 12.
Humason said he will be putting a group together for the search.
”The auditor is an important job, and we’ll fill it,” Humason said, adding, “He will be missed.”
