SOUTHWICK – The Southwick 250th Committee released new details concerning the four events to mark the actual date of the town’s founding Nov. 7. Residents are encouraged to join the fun and wish the town a Happy Birthday.
Vehicle Procession
The procession will feature the 250 Trolley, a Southwick Police escort, and 22+ vehicles of both classic American and British cars. The procession route focuses on neighborhoods and secondary roads throughout Southwick, so that all can celebrate while maintaining social distancing. Household are encouraged to decorate with balloons, happy birthday signs and merriment. The procession starts at 2 p.m. from Southwick Regional School and continues throughout the town. Residents are encouraged to decorate their yards.

Virtual Town Picnic and “Specials”
Celebrate the town’s birthday with a “Virtual Picnic”. Southwick-based businesses are offering 250-themed take-out food, beverage, and other specials on this very unique Saturday. Participants include The Launch, Wok on Water, Fresh Fields Cafe & Deli, Tuckers, The Summer House, The Hood (Red riding Hood’s Basket), Blossoming Acres and Re-Inspired. Southwick Spectacular: Beautiful Town of Lakes, Fields, Meadows, Forests and People Presentation
At 7p.m., a one-hour presentation will be broadcast on Channel 15 and Facebook. Featuring beautiful images from the 250th Photo Contest, short videos and much more, which this will meld with the opportunity to purchase and enjoy take-out food, beverages and specials from Southwick establishments while watching this presentation
Southwick 250 Photo Contest
Winners in multiple categories will be declared during the presentation and posted on Facebook no later than 9 p.m. Over 250 photos were submitted by those who wanted to share their favorite sights around Southwick, with visuals of the lakes, farms, people and places. Southwick 250 prizes will be awarded.
Southwick 250th Souvenirs
Southwick 250th Souvenirs include pint glasses, mugs, hats, tee shirts, sweatshirts and decals, and are sold at Southwoods Printing, Southwick Florist, The Summer House and The Launch. All proceeds help fund future 250th events and provide a reminder of the celebration of the town’s founding 250 years ago.
