Marivet Guzman, 51, of 58 Roosevelt Ave., Chicopee charged by Westfield Police with two counts of unauthorized use of a debit card and larceny under $250 from a disabled person, detectives investigated a report from the victim on Jan. 8, 2015 reporting funds taken out of her bank account, two transactions occurred at a nearby supermarket, detectives secured videotape of Guzman, who was the victim’s caretaker and who had access to both the victim’s debit card and Personal Identification Number (PIN) in her capacity as caretaker, in both unauthorized transactions Guzman charged between $70 and $75 dollars, purchasing between $10 and $15 in merchandise and receiving $60 in cast on both occasions, Court found sufficient facts to warrant a guilty finding, but continued the case to April 16, 2016, charges will be dropped if Guzman pays $136 restitution to victim and court fees of $250;
Bilal A. Abdullah, 37, of 1442 Roosevelt Ave., Springfield charged with carrying a firearm without a permit and improper storage of a firearm, charged stem from a traffic stop on Sept. 9, 2014, patrol officer monitoring traffic observed a female operating an unregistered motor vehicle and stopped the vehicle, officer requested a tow truck to remove the vehicle and began an pre-tow inventory of the contents of the vehicle, officer found the firearm in a green bag in the trunk of the vehicle, operator stated that the bag belonged to Abdullah, both parties were taken into custody at that time, Abdullah was arraigned in district court and bail was set, case being remanded to Superior Court and dismissed from district court;
Christian Martini, 23, of 43 Herrman St., West Springfield charged by Westfield p0olice with leaving the scene of a property damage accident which occurred on Feb. 4, 2015, court found sufficient facts, charge will be dropped when $250 court fee paid;
Edison Perez, 20, of 49 Girard Ave., Springfield was charged by Westfield police with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and improper operation of a motor vehicle, court dismissed the charges.
