John P. Gifford Jr., 53, of 90 Baystate Drive, Chester, saw a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon brought by State Police dismissed when the alleged victim asserted his Fifth Amendment rights and refused to testify.

Joel A. O’Quinn, 32, of 120 Roosevelt Ave., Apt. 1, Springfield, was held in lieu of $2,500 cash bail after he was arraigned on charges of breaking and entering a building in the nighttime with intent to commit a felony, using a motor vehicle without authority, larceny from a building, putting a person in fear by entering at night with intent to commit a felony and violation of an abuse prevention order brought by Westfield police. Jonathan C. Mitchell, 27, of 42 Arnold St., Apt. 306, Westfield, was released on his personal recognizance pending a Jan. 4 hearing after he was arraigned on charges of disturbing the peace and resisting arrest brought by Westfield police.

Daniel J. Kenney, 38, of the Ludlow House of Correction, Ludlow, was released on his personal recognizance pending a Jan. 30 hearing after he was arraigned on charges of breaking and entering a building in the nighttime with intent to commit a felony, larceny of property valued more than $1,200 and putting a person in fear by breaking and entering in the daytime with intent to commit a felony brought by Westfield police.

Larry S. Hogan, 59, of 93 Prospect Street Extension, Westfield, was held in lieu of $2,500 cash bail pending a Dec. 7 hearing after he was arraigned a charge of violation of an abuse prevention order brought by Westfield police.

Dylan Tracy, 34, of 10 Third St., Southwick, was released on his personal recognizance pending a Jan. 9 hearing after he was arraigned on charges of assault and battery and strangulation or suffocation brought by Southwick police.

Jeffrey C. Cousineau, 57, of 11A Union Ave., Westfield, was released on $2,500 personal surety pending a Dec. 17 hearing after he was arraigned on charges of possession of a Class A drug and resisting arrest brought by Westfield police.
