Jose M. Velez, 41, of 17 Fowler St, submitted to facts sufficient to warrant a guilty finding for a charge of possession of a Class D drug with intent to distribute brought by Westfield police and the charge was continued without a finding with probation for six months. He was assessed $50. A charge of possession of a Class D drug with intent to distribute was not prosecuted.
Pamela H. Hood, 53, of 103 Manor Court, Springfield, was found guilty (in a jury trial) of a charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor brought by State Police and was placed on probation for one year. She was assessed $350, ordered to complete a Driver Alcohol Education Program at a cost of $757.76 and her license was suspended for 45 days. She was found to be not responsible for a charge of making an improper turn and for a marked lanes violation.
Jorge Gomez Jr., 20, of 123 Cabot St., Holyoke, was released on $2,500 personal surety pending a Jan. 12 hearing after he was arraigned on charges of distribution of a Class A drug and conspiracy to violate drug laws brought by Westfield police.
David J. Whitlock, 42, of 73 North Boulevard, West Springfield, saw a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license dismissed upon payment of $150 in court costs. Charges of speeding in violation of special regulations and possession of a Class B drug were dismissed at the request of the Commonwealth.
Michael L. Vega, 31, of 118 Elm St., was released on his personal recognizance pending a Jan. 12 hearing after he was arraigned on charges of malicious destruction of property valued more than $250 and intimidating a witness brought by Westfield police.
Patrick J. Ryan, 36, of 25 Crown St., was released on his personal recognizance pending a Dec. 26 hearing after he was arraigned on charges of possession of a Class A drug and conspiracy to violate drug laws brought by Westfield police.
Kevin M. Zyrkoski, 23, of 6 Windsor Drive, Hingham, was found to be not guilty (in a jury trial) of charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle brought by Westfield State University police. He was found to be not responsible for a charge of improper operation of a motor vehicle.
John R. Smith, 29, of 367 General Knox Road, Russell, submitted to facts sufficient to warrant a guilty finding for a charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor and the charge was continued without a finding with probation for one year. He was assessed $350, ordered to complete a Driver Alcohol Education Program at a cost of $757.76 and his license was suspended for 45 days. He pleaded guilty to a charge of child endangerment while operating under the influence of liquor and was placed on probation for one year. He was found to be responsible for a charge of possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
