Michael J. Palumbo, 20, of 99 Tannery Road, Westfield, saw a charge of violation of an abuse prevention order brought by Southwick police dismissed when the alleged victim asserted his/her Fifth Amendment rights and refused to testify.

Sean A. Smola, 21, of 961 Blandford Road, Russell, saw a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license brought by Westfield police not prosecuted.

Dmitriy V. Pyatchenko, 25, of 48 Taylor St., Westfield, submitted to facts sufficient to warrant a guilty finding for a charge of possession of a Class A drug with intent to distribute brought by Westfield police and the charge was continued without a finding with probation for one year. He was assessed $90. Pyatchenko pleaded guilty to four charges of possession of a Class B drug with intent to distribute and was placed on probation for one year.

Seth M. Benoit, 27, of 47A Taylor Ave., Westfield, was held in lieu of $50 cash bail pending an April 11 hearing after he was arraigned on a charge of violation of an assault prevention order brought by Westfield police.

Michael E. Smutko, 41, of 22 St. James Circle, Springfield, was held in lieu of $50 cash bail pending a May 21 hearing after he was arraigned on a charge of possession of heroin brought by Westfield police. See story in the March 17 edition of The Westfield News.

Erica F. Schomer, 27, of 40 Lower Westfield Road, Holyoke, submitted to facts sufficient to warrant a guilty finding for a charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor brought by Westfield police and the charge was continued without a finding with probation for one year. She was assessed $600 and her license was suspended for 45 days. A charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle was not prosecuted.

Jake Downie, 19, of 10 Hawthorne Village, Franklin, was placed on pre-trial probation for there months after he was arraigned on a charge of being a person younger than the legal drinking age in possession of liquor brought by Westfield State University.

Edith Cordero, 34, of 50 West St., Chicopee, was released on her personal recognizance pending a May 16 hearing after she was arraigned on charges of larceny of property valued less than $250 by a single scheme and larceny of a credit card brought by Westfield police.

Aleara Blake, 24, of 180 St. James St., Springfield, was released on her personal recognizance pending a June 14 hearing after she was arraigned on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license brought by Westfield police.

Catherine E. Cassidy, 42, of 60C Danek Drive, Westfield, pleaded guilty to a charge of assault and battery and was placed on probation for six months. She was assessed $50.
