DCR seeks outdoor recreation partners and sponsors

BOSTON – The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) is seeking partners for sponsorship for programs, services and other projects for the 2014 -2015 Season to identify, attract, develop and enhance quality programs and services for the benefit of the public.
“DCR is the steward of parklands across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and our success has depended on finding a multitude of ways to engage the public and work with partners on a number of levels,” said DCR Commissioner Jack Murray. “Working together offers a unique opportunity to recognize shared purposes and achieve common goals.”
As the ninth largest state park system in the nation, DCR seeks to serve the recreational needs of a Commonwealth populated with more than six million people. Partnerships with sponsors must reflect DCR’s commitment to provide access to the public to more than 450,000 acres of land; including beaches, parks, trail ways, hiking paths, historic properties, camp sites, skating arenas, athletic facilities, playgrounds, skate parks, golf courses, aquatics and more.
Programs and services include both outdoor and indoor activities that promote health and fitness. Proposals should aim to establish, enhance, recommend and/or help create mutually beneficial partnerships with the agency that positively impact the health and well-being of residents while elevating the Commonwealth’s attractiveness as a place to live, play, visit and do business.
DCR will also consider proposals to participate or develop existing or new programs and opportunities throughout the Commonwealth that support the agency mission to protect, promote, and enhance our common wealth of natural, cultural and recreational resources for the well-being of all.
If you or someone you know may be interested in partnering with DCR, please contact Evan Hines at 617-626-1333 or by email at [email protected].
