12:20 a.m.: assist resident, Elm Street, a patrol officer reports he was flagged down by a barefoot woman wearing a nightgown who said that she has been locked out of her apartment, the responding firefighters report no entry could be gained, the woman was able to contact a friend who offered her shelter;
6:34 a.m.: breaking and entering, East Silver Street, a caller reports her car was broken into overnight, the responding officer reports the victim said that his wallet was stolen from his girlfriend’s unlocked vehicle overnight;
8:52 a.m.: breaking and entering, East Silver Street, a resident came to the station to report her car was broken into overnight and property was stolen, the responding officer reports the victim said she found her property scattered on her front seat when she returned to the vehicle which had been unlocked in her driveway overnight, the woman said that her wallet and checkbook had been stolen, the officer reports two other vehicles which had been locked in the driveway were not tampered with;
9:12 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, a radar officer reports he observed vehicle with an expired registration sticker and stopped the vehicle, the officer reports that the operator said that the vehicle belonged to a friend and presented him with an identification card and an expired registration, the officer reports he asked the man why his pupils were small and fixed and the man said that he had been smoking marijuana, Ryan Joseph Turner, 22, of 146 Bromley Road, Huntington, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and for operating an unregistered motor vehicle;
9:28 a.m.: breaking and entering, Noble Street, a resident came to the station to report her car was broken into overnight and property was stolen, the responding officer reports the victim said she parked her vehicle at her home about 10 p.m. and used a remote device to lock it but said that the device sometimes does not lock the car, the woman said that when she returned to her car in the morning she found the purse she had left in it had been emptied on the seat and her wallet was missing;
10:16 a.m.: breaking and entering, a Clinton Avenue, a caller reports that copper piping was stolen from his property, the responding officer reports that a property owner said that he has been rehabilitating a house and when he found a water faucet was not working he investigated to find almost all the copper piping in the basement had been ripped out, the man said that the thief was considerate enough to shut off the water before removing the piping;
1:35 p.m.: vandalism, Westfield Vocational-Technical High School, a school resource officer reports student election posters have been torn down and he was able to identify a suspect by viewing security video, the officer reports that when confronted the boy initially denied the vandalism but recanted when informed of the video evidence, the SRO reports school officials enacted administrative sanctions;
2:49 p.m.: breaking and entering, Noble Street, resident reported two of their vehicles were broken into and gone through during the overnight hours and his unloaded firearm, which was locked in a strongbox and equipped with trigger locks, was stolen from one of the vehicles;
3:53 p.m.: disabled auto, Franklin Street, off-duty officer reports disabled motor vehicle in his general vicinity, services rendered;
5:59 p.m.: minor property damage, North Road, caller reports that they struck a deer, with another vehicle calling in to report that the animal is injured, side of the vehicle was damaged, while the deer couldn’t be located;
8:17 p.m.: vandalism, Southampton Road, caller reports three off-duty employees vandalized the bathrooms, taking a snowman decoration and putting it into a toilet, along with removing the lid off the tank of another toilet and defecating into it, officers went to the home of one of the employees and advised the suspect’s parents to have their child call the police to speak about the incident and called the mother of one of the suspects, the suspects agreed to speak with the police in the presence of one of their parents, admitted to the offenses and were advised of the consequences if the incidents had caused any damage;
