Donald K. Watson, Jr.

Watson, Jr., 75, died peacefully at his home Saturday, July 21, 2012, with his family at his side. He was the husband of Cynthia (Johnson) Watson. They had been married for 54 years. Born in Westfield, Don was the son of the late Donald and Anne (Repo) Watson.
He was a 1954 graduate of Westfield High School. He attended Bates College, where he met and married Cynthia Johnson, and earned an M.B.A. from Western New England College. After serving with the Air National Guard in Europe during the Berlin Crisis, Don spent most of his career in the paper and envelope industry. He lived, at various times, in Massachusetts, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Washington. He held senior positions at Old Colony Envelope Co., Oles Envelope Co., and American Envelope Co., before ending his career as President, CEO, and co-owner of Griffin Envelope Co. in Seattle, WA.
Don was a devoted and selfless man, who cherished his family and friends.  His interests included tennis racquetball and running, and later in life, photography. He also devoted time to various Rotary Clubs, the Porsche Club of America, and the Envelope Manufacturers Association of America.
In addition to his wife, Don is survived by two sons, David and his wife, Carol Brekus-Watson of Madison, CT, and  Bruce and his partner, Sharon O’Malley of Leyden, MA; a daughter, Cheryl and her partner, Walter Patterson, Jr. of Wilmot, NH; a sister, Rosemary Watson of Stoneham, MA; and two grandchildren, Brooke and Andrew Watson, both of Madison, CT. He was predeceased by a sister, Wendy Vincensi Burke.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 25th in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth, MA. Interment will be private. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 11:30 a.m.
