Edgar L. Williams

WESTFIELD: Edgar L. Williams, 90, (1931-2021) passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Governor’s Center. He was born in Westfield to the late Archie and Beulah (Loomis) Williams. Ed served his country in the United States Navy during Korea from 1948-1952, serving aboard the U.S.S. Newport News and attaining the rank of HM-3 and working as a corpsman in a Navy Hospital. He attended Mount Herman School, was a graduate of American International College in Springfield and received his Master’s degree from Westfield State in business. Ed was employed as a school teacher for many years in Agawam Public Schools. He left education to pursue a business career, working for Visiting Nurses Association as Executive Vice President, before retiring. He also worked for local nonprofit organizations.

Ed is survived by his true love, whom he married in 1951, Shirley (Paradysz) Williams of Westfield, his loving children, Sherry L. Sterner and her husband Phil of Tennessee, Holly T. Turner and her husband Vail of Southwick and Scott L. Williams and his late wife Michelle of Pennsylvania and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Home Service will be held on Friday, May 14th at 12 PM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St., Westfield followed by burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Western Ave., Westfield. A visiting hour will precede the service from 11AM-12PM in the funeral home. www.firtionadams.com
