WESTFIELD – Edmund L. Wall, 96, died Thursday August 16, 2012 at home. He was born in Westfield on October 2, 1915. He was a lifelong resident and attended local schools.He was a U.S. Air force Veteran of WWII and was stationed in the Philippine Islands. He was a co-owner of Janis & Wall T.V. and Appliance in Westfield, he managed Marty Bassil Sporting Goods stores in the area for several years and was owner of Walls Trophy and Sporting Goods in Springfield until his retirement in 1993. He was former commander of American Legion Post #454 in Westfield.
He was predeceased by his wife, Stephanie “Stella” (Lamanski) Wall in 2008. Edmund leaves his son, Gary Wall of Westfield; his sister, Emily Hale of Westfield; his grandsons, Daniel Wall of Westfield and Louis Wall of San Francisco, CA. He also leaves his great-grandchildren, Shannon Wall of Westfield, Alexandra Martel of Westfield, Victoria Martel of Granville, Samantha Bouchard of Agawam; his niece, Sandra Rossetti of Westfield and his nephew, James Hale of Florence.
There will be calling hours on Thursday, August 23rd from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The funeral and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
