WESTFIELD: Eleanor (Claire) Smithies, 88, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at home. Eleanor was born in Agawam, MA to the late Ernest and Rhea Paro. She was employed for Whites Quaint Shop and retired from Kmart. She enjoyed spending time with family and playing bingo. Eleanor was predeceased by her beloved husband Albert L Smithies in 1982 and is survived by her three loving children, Shirley Reynolds of Cocoa, FL, Robert E. Smithies and William J. Smithies, Sr. and his wife Alice M., all of Westfield, her sisters, Lillian Scibelli of Southwick and Edna Shibley West Springfield her brother Larry Paro of Agawam, her 7 grandchildren, Heather Smithies, Jennifer Smithies, William Smithies, Jr and his wife Lindsay, David Smithies and his wife Marissa, Laura Smithies, Robbie Giordano and his wife Carolyn and Tina Giordano, and eight great grandchildren, Cassie Smithies, Sophia Smithies, Caleb Smithies, Scarlett Smithies, Michael Smithies, Blake Giordano, Kyanna Giordano and Kane Giordano, her special nieces Joyce Dintzner and husband Richard and Judy Anstett and husband Kenny of Florida and many other nieces and nephews. A Funeral Home Service will be held on Saturday at 1PM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield followed by burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Court St. Westfield.
