WESTFIELD – Elizabeth M. (Urbanek) Grabowiec, 56, died Sunday, March 31, 2013 in Mercy Medical Center. She was born in Bratkowka, Poland on January 17, 1957 to the late Tadeusz and Helena (Slowik) Urbanek.She was a 1976 graduate of Westfield High School and has lived in Westfield for the past 35 years. Elizabeth worked at Old Colony Envelope in Westfield for 25 years and most recently has worked for the West Springfield Public Schools for the dining service. She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church and a member of the choir. She enjoyed ballroom dancing.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jerzy F. Grabowiec on June 3, 2003. She leaves her sons, Adam, Michael and Daniel Grabowiec all of Westfield; her brothers, Stanislaw Urbanek and his wife Janina of Westfield, Wladyslaw Urbanek and his wife Janina of Westfield; her sister, Zofia Guzek and her husband Stanislaw of Chicopee and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral for Elizabeth will be held on Thursday, April 4th at 9:00 a.m. from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
