WESTFIELD – Everett G. Bacon, Jr., 94, (1930-2025) passed away peacefully at home on April 18th, 2025. Everett was born in Hubbardston, MA and was the only son to the late Everett G. Bacon, Sr. and Helen (Collins) Bacon. He grew up in Athol, MA and Barre, MA and relocated to Westfield, MA in the early 1960’s where he remained a resident until his passing.
In 1966, Everett focused all his experience, knowledge and skills to creating his own company. Determined to succeed, he searched for his own tools, his own machines and his own building. In 1970, he relocated to a larger facility on Elm Street, where EV-Rite Tool continues to operate as a family business under the ownership of his son, Eugene and his Grandson Jeffrey. He was a member of the National Tool Die & Precision Machining Association and the Associated Industries of Massachusetts.
Everett enjoyed spending his summers at Otis Reservoir in East Otis, MA. He was a Member of the Otis Reservoir Property Owner’s Association and served as a Board of Directors and Financial Secretary, Treasurer, for over 30 years. He was also a Member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary with his dedication to support and promote Boating and watercraft safety.
Everett is predeceased by his wife Evelyn M. (LeBreton) and son-in-law Normand R. Lebeau. He leaves behind his daughter Elayne (Bacon) Lebeau of Westfield, MA, and his son Eugene Bacon (Laura) of East Otis, MA; 4 grandchildren – Tracey Lebeau of Feeding Hills, MA, Ryan Lebeau (Claire) of West Springfield, MA, Jeffrey Bacon (Leah) of Blandford, MA, and Kelly Bacon (Tim) of Enfield, CT; and 7 great-grandchildren – Bennett Lebeau, Oliver Lebeau, Lenox Lebeau, Cruz Lebeau, Jace Bacon, Rylinn Bacon and Ronin Rivera.
