Fanfare Brass Choir performs in Huntington

imageHUNTINGTON – The Fanfare Brass Choir, a 10-piece brass band, performed sing-along Christmas selections at the First Congregational Church of Norwich Hill on Sunday.
The concert, sponsored by the Huntington Cultural Council, was free to the public and filled the church.
The program alternated between brass-only and popular carols, many arranged for the group by trombonist and retired UMass music professor David Sporny, because as bandleader David Neill explained, there are no arrangements for a 10-piece brass band for Christmas.
Sporny said they had done many such concerts, and were impressed by the singing in Huntington.
Following the concert, Rev. Carol Smith invited the audience to enjoy homemade cookies, coffee and punch offered by the church.
